Ms Azoulay’s visit to Brasilia, Brazil

Ms Audrey Azoulay visited Brasilia on 10 July 2017 to present the strategic focuses of her candidacy for the post of UNESCO Director-General to the Brazilian authorities. She met with the Brazilian Minister of Foreign Relations, Mr Aloysio Nunes and the Brazilian Minister of Culture, Mr Joao Batista de Andrade.

Ms Azoulay also visited two works by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Cathedral of Brasilia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Dom Bosco Sanctuary. She met with prominent figures from civil society who are working in UNESCO-related sectors to talk about their field experience.

Ms Azoulay gave an interview to the Correio Braziliense, the main newspaper in Brazil’s capital (publishing 50,000 newspapers a day to more than one million readers).
