Ms Audrey Azoulay’s mission to Seoul – South Korea

On 26-27 July 2017, Ms Audrey Azoulay carried out a mission to South Korea to present the authorities there with her candidacy for the position of UNESCO Director-General.

Ms Azoulay successively met the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Do Jong-hwan, the Secretary-General of the Korea National Commission for UNESCO, Mr Kim Kwangho, the Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Education Minister, Mr Kim Sang-gon, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Kang Kyung-wha.

The Palace of Prosperity

During her mission, Ms Azoulay visited the Palace of Prosperity (Changdeokgung), which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the National Folk Museum of Korea (permanent collections; Junk X User’s Guide exhibition, designed in collaboration with the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations (MuCEM), on the issue of waste and its recycling).
